Altitude sickness is caused when ascending at a pace that is too fast which doesn't allow the human body to adapt to the new air pressure.This could be fatal if ignored.
Symptoms
Some of the symptoms of altitude sickness include headache,insomnia(unable to sleep),appetite loss,nausea,dizziness and vomiting.
Prevention
When someone shows signs of altitude sickness don't ascend any further.Camp until the effects fade away.Make sure the person suffering doesn't come in contact with cigarettes or alcohol.
